Mesa Water Invites Students who live in or attend High Schools and Colleges in Costa Mesa to Enter Water Video Contest

Three local students will win prizes; top prize is $1,000

COSTA MESA, Calif.; March 12, 2024 ā€”Ā Mesa Water District (Mesa WaterĀ®) is hosting a video contest for local students who live in or attend high schools and colleges in the Mesa Water service area, to promote water awareness.

Students are invited to submit a fun and informative video (60 seconds or less) addressing one the following questions:

  • Why is it safe to drink Mesa Water straight from the tap? ā€“ #ByeByeBottled
  • What does it mean to you that Mesa Water is 100% local? ā€“ #PurelyLocal
  • Why do you love Mesa Water? ā€“ #ILoveMesaWater


Be as creative as you like ā€“ animations, songs, poems, TikToks, monologues and stop motion videos are welcome. Video entries will be accepted through April 30, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Three winners will be selected with the following monetary prizes:

  • 1st Place - $1,000
  • 2nd Place - $750
  • 3rd Place - $500Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā 


Teachers are encouraged to share the contest with their students. If the first place student lists their referring teacher in their application, the teacher will receive a $500 Amazon gift card for their classroom.

A panel of judges will select the winning videos based on accuracy, creativity, quality and entertainment value. Winners will be notified in May and will be invited to attend a Board meeting in the spring to be recognized and receive their prize.

Students must live in or attend high school or colleges in the Mesa Water service area, which includes Costa Mesa, parts of Newport Beach and some unincorporated areas of the county. For official contest rules and a map of our service area, visit MesaWater.org/VideoContest.
