Staff Splash: Meet Solan Kedzie

As an Accounting Technician, Solan plays a key role in keeping Mesa Water’s financial processes organized and accurate,
supporting day-to-day accounting activities across the District.

Is there a project or initiative you’re particularly excited about right now? 

I'm most excited about the district's upcoming Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project. It's not often you get the opportunity to be part of a major system change, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it helps support Mesa Water’s work in the years ahead. 

Is there anything behind-the-scenes about your work you wish more people knew about?

I wish more people knew how much coordination happens behind the scenes to provide reliable water service. Through accounting, I get to see how many different departments work together to support the District's operations and projects. It's interesting to see how all those pieces connect, and rewarding to play a part in helping everything run smoothly.

 If you could swap jobs with another Mesa Water team member for a day, who would it be and why?

I'd probably swap jobs with someone in water operations for a day. Since I work in accounting, I usually see the administrative and financial side of things, so it would be interesting to experience what it's really like in the field. I think it would give me greater appreciation for the work that goes into maintaining the water system and providing reliable service to our customers every day.

When you are not at work, what do you enjoy doing?

Outside of work, I like surfing, camping or spending time at the beach. When I’m not doing that, I enjoy relaxing and recharging.
