Staff Splash: Meet Andres Medina

Posted: Thursday, June 29, 2023

Andres Medina, senior operator, is committed to helping ensure a local, reliable source of water for our customers.

Q: What is the best part of your workday?

A: The best part of my day is being able to take a step back and admire the finished product of a long dayā€™s work.

Q: What would people find surprising about your role?

A: I think people would find that thereā€™s a lot more planning and directing involved when it comes to prepping a jobsite for a valve replacement or hydrant upgrade, for example. Itā€™s more than just showing up and digging a hole in the street. There are multiple experts on a job like that and being able to delegate tasks so that the job runs smoothly and efficiently is a big part of it.

Q: What is the one work tool you cannot live without?

A: An offset pipe wrench is something I couldnā€™t live without. Itā€™s pretty versatile, and very helpful in situations where Iā€™m working in tight spaces.

Q: How many glasses of Mesa Water do you drink a day?

A: I try to shoot for a gallon of Mesa Water a day, I just canā€™t get enough of it!

Staff Splash is a recurring feature in News on Tap. Look forward to meeting more Mesa Water employees in future issues.
