“Water-wise Wednesday” Activities to be Hosted by Mesa Water District at 2014 OC Fair

“Water Smarts Here” Workshops and Garden Tours to Help Local Landscapes be Healthy and Water-Wise

WHAT: Free with OC Fair admission, OC Fair-goers can tour a beautiful and water-efficient demonstration garden with Mesa Water’s conservation staff in the Centennial Farm area.  The garden uses California Friendly and California native plants, drip irrigation, and other aesthetic landscaping features that look good, prevent water waste, and save money and the environment.  Sponsored by the Mesa Water District (Mesa Water) Board of Directors, the District’s “Water-Wise Wednesday” activities share ideas about Water Use Efficiency (“WUE”) for visitors to try at home. Event-goers may also receive an OC Fair-themed Mesa Water prize to take with them.

WHO: The public is invited to participate in Mesa Water’s “Water Smarts Here” landscape workshops and guided tours of its demonstration garden, led by Mesa Water staff providing information and answering questions about ways to be “water-wise”, especially important with California’s new drought regulations focused on outdoor water use.
