Mesa Water Hires Phil Lauri as District Engineer

Costa Mesa, Calif.; June 28, 2012 – Mesa Water District (Mesa Water) has hired Phil Lauri as District Engineer, effective June 11.  Reporting to Mesa Water’s General Manager, Lauri is responsible for the District’s Engineering Department services and activities.

 

phil lauri"Providing a safe and reliable water supply and performing continuous infrastructure renewal and improvement are Mesa Water’s top two priorities as listed in the District’s strategic plan adopted by the Board of Directors,” says Mesa Water Board President Fred R. Bockmiller, Jr., P.E.  He continues, “We are pleased to bring on Phil Lauri to perform the challenging and complex engineering work of the District so that Mesa Water can continue achieving its strategic plan goals.”

Lauri’s role includes managing engineering projects, planning cross connection control, and directing the design, construction, and inspection of the District’s water system.  Additionally, Lauri will work with Mesa Water’s other departments to identify and implement strategic planning goals in order to continue enhancing the efficient operational and financial models already in effect at the District.

Prior to joining Mesa Water, Lauri served as Principal Water Resources Engineer for the West Basin Municipal Water District in Carson, Calif., where he was also the Ocean Water Desalination Program Manager.  He holds a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering/Water Resources from Long Beach State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly University Pomona.

In his free time, Lauri enjoys running half marathons and serving in various capacities at his local church.
