Mesa Water and Orange Coast College to Distribute Free Fresh Water and Nalgene Water Bottles at New, On-campus Water Vending Machine

Water District Offers Complimentary First Refills As Part Of “Refill Not Landfill” Campaign To Reduce Plastic Waste

WHAT: In an effort to reduce plastic waste in landfills, Mesa Water District(Mesa Water) celebrates the debut of its new on-campus water vending machine at Orange Coast College (OCC) by distributing 500 reusable Nalgene water bottles (while supplies last) with one free fresh water refill.  For just 5 cents, the vending machine offers 16-ounce, 24-ounce, and 1-gallon servings of fresh, chilled water.

As part of the complimentary water and bottle distribution, students are encouraged to sign a large “Refill Not Landfill” pledge board to help reduce the roughly 50 billion single-serve plastic water bottles that consume U.S. landfills each year.  Mesa Water is committed to helping OCC students and staff “Refill Not Landfill” by providing safe, reliable affordable tap water.
