Mesa Water District Honors the Camp with Water Use Efficiency Award

Costa Mesa, Calif.; November 29, 2012 - Mesa Water District (Mesa Water) recognizes The CAMP and Shaheen Sadeghi, President and CEO of parent-company LAB Holding, LLC for their outstanding efforts in water use efficiency.

Located in Costa Mesa, The CAMP is celebrating its 10th anniversary as Orange County’s only environmental sustainable retail campus.  For the past decade, the innovative center has pioneered many water-wise initiatives, such as incorporating indigenous drought-tolerant landscaping, capturing all storm water on-site with a percolation system, and maintaining a grass roof that improves the quality of retained storm water.

“Mesa Water’s Board of Directors is pleased to bestow our Excellence in Water Use Efficiency Award to this well-deserved District customer,” says Mesa Water Board President Fred R. Bockmiller, Jr., P.E.  He continues, “Congratulations to The CAMP - a cultural, economic, educational, and environmental contributor to our community!”

Other environmental sustainability efforts at The CAMP include providing a community-supported agriculture drop-off location, on-site herb boxes, hosting educational seminars and films, offering an incredible selection of eco-friendly products, services, and food, including a yurt café, and using Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood in construction.
