Mesa Water Launches Video Contest for High School and College Students

In celebration of its 60th Anniversary, Mesa Water District (Mesa Water®) is looking to promote water awareness and nurture creativity as it launches the 2020 Mesa Water Matters Video Contest for high school and college students in its service area. Three winners will receive the following cash prizes: 1st place: $500, 2nd place: $300, and 3rd place: $200.

Students are encouraged to create a fun, informative 60-second video highlighting Mesa Water and the difference it makes in the community. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Contest runs from September 1, 2020 to October 31, 2020.
  • Videos should address topics such as water education in local schools, participation in community events, conservation programs such as drought-tolerant gardens, or Mesa Water’s role as a long-standing provider of safe and healthy drinking water.
  • Video file size should not exceed 250 MB.
  • Videos will be evaluated for accuracy & effectiveness, creativity & originality, production quality, and entertainment value.
  • Top three videos will be selected by a panel of judges. Winners will be notified on or before November 6 and will be recognized on Mesa Water’s website and social media channels.
  • Students must attend school in the Mesa Water service area, which includes Costa Mesa, parts of Newport Beach and some unincorporated areas of the county.
