Consolidation Measure TT Passes

The November 8th election results show that 55 percent of local voters support pursuing consolidation of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District and Mesa Water District into one district to serve the community.

Consolidating the two districts -- with a nearly identical service area and customer base -- could provide a one-time cost savings of $15.6 million and annual savings of $2.7 million. Passage of the measure is a preliminary step to a formal consolidation process by the Orange County Local Formation Commission (OC LAFCO).
