MESA ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF PRESIDENT AND FIRST VICE PRESIDENT

Costa Mesa, Calif.–Mesa Consolidated Water District's ( Mesa ) Board of Directors (Board) announces Mesa ’s Board President and First Vice President. The election of officers was held at the December 10, 2007 Board meeting.

James F. Atkinson, who was elected to Mesa ’s Board in 1998, has been named President. He previously served as Board President in 2002 and 2003 and has been First Vice President since December 2004 .

President Atkinson currently serves on Mesa 's Executive and Engineering & Operations Committees. Additionally he represents Mesa at the City/Districts Liaison. President Atkinson has served on Mesa 's Human Resources, Public Information, and Finance Committees.

Shawn Dewane will serve as First Vice President. He was appointed to the Board in 2005 then elected in 2006. Director Dewane currently serves on the Public Information Committee and Chairs the Finance Committee. Additionally he serves as Mesa ’s liaison to the Orange County Water District and the Water Advisory Council of Orange County .

Directors Fred Bockmiller, Trudy Ohlig-Hall, and Paul E. Shoenberger will continue to serve on the Board as Vice Presidents.

Mesa provides water service to more than 100,000 customers in an 18 square-mile area. The service area includes the city of Costa Mesa, parts of Newport Beach, and the John Wayne Airport. Mesa is dedicated to satisfying our community's water needs.
