MESA RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT FOR
EXCELLENCE IN FINANCIAL REPORTING
Costa Mesa, Calif.– Mesa Consolidated
Water District ( Mesa ) is proud to announce that it
has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence
in Financial Reporting. Mesa has been awarded this
honor by the Government Finance Officers Association
of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive
annual financial report (CAFR). The presentation of
the award was made at Mesa ’s Board of Directors
(Board) meeting on November 13, 2007.
“Mesa goes above and beyond the requirements
of the general accounting principles to offer information
to the public that is useful in evaluating the District’s
financial condition,” said Paul E. Shoenberger,
Mesa ’s
Board President. “The Board commends Mesa ’s dedicated staff for
its commitment to excellence.”
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form
of recognition in the area of governmental accounting
and financial reporting. It recognizes Mesa ’s
excellence in meeting the high standards of the program and demonstrates a significant
accomplishment by Mesa and its management. Mesa has received the award for thirteen
consecutive years.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association
serving approximately 16,000 government finance professionals.
Mesa provides water service
to more than 100,000 customers in an 18 square-mile
area. The service area includes the city of Costa
Mesa, parts of Newport Beach, and the John Wayne
Airport. Mesa is dedicated to satisfying our community's
water needs.
