MESA’S BOARD APPOINTS NEW GENERAL MANAGER
Costa Mesa, Calif.–Mesa Consolidated Water District’s (Mesa) Board of Directors (Board) announces the appointment of Paul E. Shoenberger to the position of General Manager.
Mr. Shoenberger has more than 20 years of experience in the water industry addressing water supply and water quality issues including 3 years as the Assistant General Manager of West Basin Municipal Water District. He also served on Mesa’s Board for nearly 9 years, 3 of them as Board President. He has served on several of Mesa’s Committees.
Paul Shoenberger serves as Chair for the Association of California Water Agencies desalination subcommittee and on the Board of Directors of the Affordable Desalination Collaboration. Additionally, he is a Board member of the New Water Supply Coalition, a national coalition lobbying Congress to further recycled water and desalination projects. Mr. Shoenberger is a registered Professional Engineer with the State of California.
"My goal for Mesa is to ensure the District operates as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. I will do all I can to secure the community’s continued prosperity through a safe supply of plentiful water now and in the future,” said Shoenberger. “I am honored by the Board’s confidence in my abilities to manage the day to day operations of the District.”
“The Board and staff are extremely confident that Mr. Shoenberger is the appropriate person to manage the District,” said Shawn Dewane, Board President. “His experience and knowledge will greatly benefit Mesa and the Board is pleased to have the opportunity to continue working with him.”
Mr. Shoenberger will begin his position as General Manager on September 21, 2009.

to more than 100,000 customers in an 18 square-mile
area. The service area includes the city of Costa
Mesa, parts of Newport Beach, and the John Wayne
Airport. Mesa is dedicated to satisfying our community's
water needs.
