MESA CONSOLIDATED WATER DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DECLARE
MAY WATER AWARENESS MONTH
Costa Mesa, Calif.– Mesa
Consolidated Water District (Mesa) and the City of
Costa Mesa (City) joined together to declare the
month of May “Water Awareness Month” in
Costa Mesa. The City adopted a proclamation at its
May 6, 2008 Council Meeting.
The purpose of Water Awareness Month is to promote a greater appreciation of
our most precious resource
.
“Southern California had its driest year on
record on 2007,” said
James F. Atkinson, Mesa’s Board President. “Conditions remain very
dry despite recent rains and it is important for all of us to become more aware
and more involved”.
Mesa and the City are urging the community to make
water conservation a way of life, and to not just practice
during the dry years. Mesa offers several Water Use
Efficiency Programs, at no cost, to assist customers
with reducing their water usage. Programs include residential
surveys, rebates, and landscape workshops.
More information is available on Mesa’s website
at www.mesawater.org or by calling (949) 631-1205 .
Mesa provides water service
to more than 100,000 customers in an 18 square-mile
area. The service area includes the city of Costa
Mesa, parts of Newport Beach, and the John Wayne
Airport. Mesa is dedicated to satisfying our community's
water needs.
