MESA CONSOLIDATED WATER DISTRICT HAS OUTSTANDING
SAFETY RECORD
Costa Mesa, Calif. – Mesa
Consolidated Water District ( Mesa ) has announced
that staff has achieved 368 days without a lost time
incident from job related injuries. In addition, Mesa
has received excellent safety marks from the Association
of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance
Authority (JPIA). Recently, the JPIA toured Mesa ’s
District offices, yard, well sites, and Colored Water
Treatment Facility. All were found to be well maintained
and secure.
“Mesa is committed to ensuring the safety and
security of our staff and community,” said Paul
E. Shoenberger, Mesa’s Board President. “The
Board of Directors is proud of the outstanding accomplishments
made by our dedicated staff.”
As a result of Mesa’s performance and safety
inspection by JPIA, no formal recommendations were
made for improvement.
The JPIA is a partnership of California water agencies
working together to share the risks associated with
purveying water. The risk-sharing pools of the JPIA
are a cost-effective form of risk management available
only to public entities, allowing them to bypass the
high cost of commercial insurance. Prospective members
must demonstrate a commitment to effective risk management
programs.
Mesa provides water service to more than
100,000 customers in an 18 square-mile area. The service
area includes the city of Costa Mesa, parts of Newport
Beach, and the John Wayne Airport. Mesa is dedicated
to satisfying our community's water needs.
