MESA DIRECTOR APPOINTED TO RISK MANAGEMENT SUBCOMMITTEE
Costa Mesa, Calif.– Mesa
Consolidated Water District (Mesa) is proud to announce
that Director Fred Bockmiller has been appointed
to the Risk Management Subcommittee for the Association
of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance
Authority (ACWA/JPIA).
The function of the Risk Management Program is
to minimize claims in the Liability, Workers’ Compensation,
and Property Programs. The Subcommittee was created
as a means of facilitating input from member Districts
such as Mesa. Subcommittees are composed only of
representatives from Districts which participate
in the specific programs.
“Mesa is committed to employing the best
safety practices and takes its responsibility to
manage risk seriously,” said Fred Bockmiller. “I
am honored to represent Mesa on the subcommittee.
The ACWA/JPIA is a partnership of water agencies working
together to share the risks associated with purveying
water. The risk-sharing pools of the JPIA are a cost-effective
form of risk management available only to public entities,
allowing them to bypass the high cost of commercial
insurance.
Mesa provides water service
to more than 100,000 customers in an 18 square-mile
area. The service area includes the city of Costa
Mesa, parts of Newport Beach, and the John Wayne
Airport. Mesa is dedicated to satisfying our community's
water needs.
