Vacation – 88 hours to either 160 or 208 hours per year depending on tenure and bargaining unit, with the ability to begin using accrued time after completion of six-months of service. Supervisory/Confidential and Management employees have the option to participate in the District’s Vacation Cash-out Program
Sick Leave – 96 hours per year
Holidays –
89 to 107 hours depending on classification, consisting of ten fixed 8-hour holidays, two special holidays, and 9 hours of floating holiday time
Cafeteria Plan Benefits –$1,300 (as of 1/1/12) per month to be used towards benefits; Medical, Dental, Vision, optional insurance plans, and Deferred Compensation
Section 125 Cafeteria Plan – Healthcare Expense and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (new employees are eligible to participate in Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account upon hire, and in Healthcare Flexible Spending Account after one-year of service)
Life Insurance – $100,000 insurance paid by Mesa (decreases to $65,000 at age 65 and $50,000 at age 70)
Long Term Disability – District paid benefit: 66 2/3% of salary, up to $9,000 per month; 90-day waiting period
Short Term Disability – The District participates in State Disability Insurance (SDI)
Retirement –Defined benefit plan, CalPERS 2% @ age 55 with 7% Employer Paid Member Contributions and supplemented by Social Security
Deferred Compensation – A choice of two Deferred Compensation Plans (Section 457)
